The EPCBA LRIS program refers the public to screened and qualified full-rate attorneys. If matched, you will receive a 30-minute consultation where the attorney may charge up to $100. Any advice given thereafter will be billed at that attorney's regular rate. Our program is voluntary for attorneys to join, so we cannot guarantee a match for every area of law. Protective Proceedings Monitors, Probate Registrar, and Probate Staff: (719)452-5003

Probate staff is available every Wednesday at the El Paso County Combined Courts to answer questions regarding Guardianships, Conservatorships and Estate matters. Court staff cannot fill out forms or give legal advice. Assistance with Guardianships or Conservatorships is available at the Probate Window (W149) on Wednesdays from 8:30am-12:00pm (guardianship and conservatorship questions). Assistance with Estate matters is available at the Probate window (W149) on Wednesdays from 1:00pm-4:30pm (for estate questions).

Justice Corps

Colorado College students assisting pro se parties with procedural questions. The students' volunteer hours vary. They are located at El Paso County Combined Court in Room S116, in the Self-Help Center.

Colorado legal Help Center (Online only)

The Colorado Legal Help Center can provide resources for individuals working through a legal case without representation. Virtual Pro Se Clinic

El Paso County:

First Monday of every month, 3:30pm-5:00pm. First-come, first-served. The clinic may not take place on legal holidays or when the library is closed. Currently at the Fountain Library, Pikes Peak Library District, 230 S. Main St., Fountain, CO 80817. Volunteer attorneys will answer questions, help fill out forms, and explain the process and procedure for the legal issues in the areas of family law, civil litigation, property law, probate law, collections, appeals, landlord­ tenant law, veteran's benefits and civil protection order via computer link.

MEDIATION

Neighborhood Justice Center: 105 E. Vermiio, 2nd floor, Room 230

The Neighborhood Justice Center, a division of the Fourth Judicial District's DA office, is a voluntary program to help citizens peacefully resolve disputes through mediation hearings. It focuses on the identification of issues creating conflict and the development of mutually acceptable resolutions. This service will help with non-domestic restraining orders. They cannot give legal advice and do not mediate tenant/landlord disputes. There is a nominal fee for this service.

The mediators have many years of experience and training and handle complex county and district civil, divorce, and child custody cases on a routine basis. TESSA's Project LIFT exists to help victims of domestic/intimate partner violence, stalking, sexual assault, and human trafficking find legal representation for Permanent Protection Order hearings. Project LIFT pays fees to local attorneys to take victims' cases, at no cost to the victim.
